Vacancy Announcement: COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FACILITATOR (CDF), AILEU DISTRICT

Overview: The CDF is Plan’s main representative at suco and aldea level. He/she builds links with children and communities, helps communications between children, communities and Plan, supports the planning and implementation of Plan programs and ensures implementation of all Child Sponsorship communication processes.

Responsibilities include
·        Establish and maintain good relationships with children, families, community leaders, staff of other NGOs, and government
·        Train and lead community volunteers
·        Facilitate sponsorship communications
·        Monitor child protection issues
·        Assist communities in the design, implementation and monitoring of development projects
·        Manage own operating budget
·        Contribute to development of Plan’s program and project plans 
·        Participate in evaluations and research
·        Lead on suco and aldea level disaster risk management 

Skills, qualifications and Experience
University degree an advantage
Experience in community development and experience of PRA a major advantage
Commitment to working with children and young people
Commitment to work in rural communities
Demonstrated skills and experience in planning, monitoring, budget management; report writing
Fluent spoken and written English an advantage
Able to ride motorcycle
Able to travel, work and stay in remote areas under difficult conditions

RESOURCE MOBILIZATION ASSOCIATE MANAGER

Purpose of position:
The Resource Mobilization Associatewill be responsible for supporting the Resource Mobilization Officer/Managerin the acquisition and maintenance of new and existing donor funding, includinggrants, World Vision Private Non-Sponsorship (PNS) and corporate funding.The Resource Mobilization Associate will also support relationship buildingwith donors, communication of project related information and reporting,and achievement of an effective project management cycle.
The Resource Mobilization Associateis accountable for:
q        Supportto grant proposal writing in partnership with Area Programs and the PDTechnical staff
q        Supportto Resource Mobilization Officer/Manager in maintaining the WVTL ProjectMaster with existing projects, pipeline funding and prospected resourceopportunities (regular updating)
q        Updatingproject documents and information onto the WV Horizon database
q        Supportto identification of potential new donors and available funding opportunitiesfor WVTL

GRM International, on behalf of the AusAID, is the managing contractorfor the Australian Development Awards Program (ADAP), which includes theAustralian Development Scholarships and the Australian LeadershipAwards.

GRM is currently recruiting one (1) Senior Program Officer and two(2) Program Officers to support the Scholarships Manager with theimplementation of ADAP. These positions are for nationalapplicants.

The role of the Senior Program Officer is to implement ADAPaccording to the Annual Plan and Operations Manual, and to ensure thecompliance of all systems and processes with the Australian GovernmentScholarships Handbook and other relevant policies for Timor-Leste.The role includes the supervision and support of the two program officersalso working in the implementation of ADAP.

CARE Timor Leste has been working with Creative Associates International since October 2010 to implement a large USAID contract, the School Dropout Prevention Pilot (SDPP) Program. SDPP is a three year pilot project to research school dropout prevention and create new approaches tailored to country specific needs. School dropout severely limits the availability of qualified human resources for the country's development and SDPP is working with the Ministry of Education and local partners to develop and test a preventative model through a randomized control trial.

The Country Coordinator is a senior position and will manage SDPP staff and activities in Timor Leste. In addition to management, the person will serve as the primary representative of the SDPP project to the USAID mission, the Ministry of Education, and other partners and stakeholders.

SURAT DARI SEORANG AYAH DI ACEH UNTUK ANANKNYA DI RUTAN NUSA KAMBANGGAN

Seorang warga Aceh Kabupaten Pidie menulis surat ke anak nya yang ada di penjara Nusa Kambangan karena dituduh terlibat aksi separatis.

Bunyinya : "Hasan, bapakmu ini sudah tua, sekarang sedang musim tanam jagung, dan kamu ditahan dipenjara pula, siapa yang mau bantu bapak mencangkul kebun jagung ini?"

Anaknya membalas surat itu beberapa minggu kemudian: "Demi tuhan, jangan cangkul itu kebun, saya tanam senjata disana!" kata si anak dalam surat itu.

Rupanya surat itu disensor pihak rumah tahanan, maka keesokan harinya, setelah si bapak terima surat, datang satu peleton Densus 88 Mabes Polri. Tanpa banyak bicara, mereka segera ke kebun jagung dan sibuk seharian mencangkul tanah di kebun jagung tersebut.

Setelah mereka pergi, kembali si bapak tulis surat ke anaknya. "Hasan, setelah bapak terima suratmu, datang satu peleton Densus 88 mencari senjata di kebun jagung kita, namun tanpa hasil. Apa yang harus bapak lakukan sekarang?"

Anak kembali membalas surat tersebut.
"Sekarang bapak mulai tanam jagung aja kan sudah di cangkul Densus 88 dan jangan lupa  ngucapin terima kasih sama mereka..."
